Day two of the Winmau WDF Europe Cup Youth in Assen is complete. The semi-finalists in the Boys Singles and the finalists in the Girls Team event have been confirmed,  unfortunately, no medals for Team Netherlands today.

Boys Singles Tournament
All four Dutch boys topped their groups impressively, staying undefeated in the group stage. Ruben Baalmans, Bradley van der Velden, Kendji Steinbach, and Vinny Stassen all advanced to the knockout rounds.
However, despite strong performances early on, none of the Dutch players made it past the Last 16. Missed doubles and tough opponents proved too much in the end. Baalmans was the last Dutch hope but fell short against Germany’s Merlin Nicolaus.

Boys Singles Semi-Finals (Saturday):

  • Sam Jackson (ENG) vs Mitchell Lawrie (SCO)
  • Mason Teese (ENG) vs Merlin Nicolaus (GER)

Girls Team Event
The Dutch girls (Fardau de Jong & Kimberly Kersbergen) fought hard in a new team format, finishing second in their group after narrow wins over Iceland, Slovenia, and Slovakia. A close loss to Finland followed.
In the quarter-finals, the Netherlands faced a strong Turkish side. Despite their efforts, De Jong and Kersbergen couldn’t turn the match around and were eliminated after a 3-0 loss. Turkey went on to reach the final alongside England.

Girls Team Final (Saturday):

  • Turkey vs England
